Au Revoir, 2008!

Can't say that 2008 was the easiest year of my life. The 33rd year wasn't an easy one for another well-known, well-loved figure, Jesus. Thirty-three was a bad year for him, too.

On the one hand, there were personal and professional trials and tribulations, not the least of which was a cancelled show due to the faltering economy. On the other hand, it was an enormous year of growth and realization of who and what I want to be, personally and professionally.

Change is never easy. It certainly doesn't come without growing pains of one sort or other. And it can really suck big hairy balls when you are in the middle of it. I've not always been good at keeping my chin up about it, either. But as we embark on a new moon and a new year, I am sowing seeds of hopefullness in the future and confidence that I can achieve the new goals I have set for my life's pursuits.

Let's raise a glass (or a middle finger) to the last year and toast the upcoming year with all the hope and joy brought by the celebration of a new year (and a new president).

Cheers, and namaste. May we all find that tomorrow we are better than we are today.
